Message from the Practice

Like many GP practices across Wales, we are experiencing very high-volume demand alongside staff shortages. This has unfortunately led to longer waiting times on the telephone, particularly during busy periods. Our aim is to make it easier for you and your family to get the right help at the right time from the right person. To help improve this we will be using an online service for patient appointments and triage. This means you can contact us online during opening hours, a clinician will review your request and decide the safest and quickest next step, this will include advice from a clinician, a telephone call or message from a clinician or be offered a face-to-face appointment. We will update you when these changes are implemented. You can still speak to the receptionist, and the receptionists will help you complete forms either in the surgery or on the phone. Urgent problems will continue to be prioritised, and home visits will still be arranged when appropriate. This benefits you and your family with a faster response to urgent problems, reduced waiting times. Fewer unnecessary appointments, better use of the clinical team, more support for carers family and reduced travel for rural patients. We understand that change can take time to get used to and we appreciate your patience as we introduce this new system our priority remains providing safe, timely care for all our patients and we hope this new system will help us do that more effectively.
